Sectra's New Voice Encryptor Provides Added Protection for Calls
TMCnet Contributor
Sectra will be launching the new Panthon voice encryptor that enables European government authorities to protect their sensitive telephone calls from eavesdropping at an upcoming industry event. Sectra provides efficient and future-proof products to niche markets with long-term growth potential.
At present, security awareness is on the rise throughout the world. Previously, products for encrypted telephony were primarily intended to protect confidential information at the security level, Secret. Due to a shift in attitude, there is an increase in demand for products that enable all government employees to communicate securely.
Sectra Panthon will integrate with a smartphone, making it easier to make an encrypted telephone call as it is to make a regular telephone call. Since voice quality is important to Sectra’s users, Panthon has the same crystal clear sound as Sectra’s other voice crypto products. The encryption is hardware-based and installed on a microSD-card that is inserted in the telephone.
According to Michael Bertilsson, president of Sectra Communications, Sectra’s voice crypto products are the most secure and easy-to-use alternative available in the market at present. Decision-makers in more than half of the European Union member states use the Tiger XS personal voice encryptor for secure communication of state secrets at the security level Secret. Sectra is supplementing its offering to European government authorities by offering Panthon, which will allow them to easily protect all telephone calls from eavesdropping at the security level, Restricted.
Sectra's Tiger XS products protect the transmission of classified information from sender to receiver, regardless of whether it is communicated from a mobile phone, desktop phone, conference phone or a computer. At present, Sectra Tiger is being used by customers in more than half of all EU member states.
Sectra develops and sells products for secure voice and data communications. Sectra has been developing crypto products for the Swedish defense and government customers from 1980 onwards. Sectra has established cooperation with national security bodies in a number of European countries as well as leading EU organizations. Sectra provides assistance in system commissioning as well as customized training and support. Customers can also purchase service and upgrade contracts.
