UK based energy company First Utility and globally known billing solution provider LogNet (News - Alert) Systems forged a partnership for the better management of billing of First Utility’s multiple services.

For the first time in UK’s history, First Utility offered its customers smart meters as a standard feature. In addition to supplying electricity and gas services to residential and business customers, First Utility also offers telephony and broadband services. Under the partnership, First Utility will leverage LogNet Systems’ multiple play customer management and billing solution for combined energy and telecommunications service.

The multiple pay solution from LogNet Systems will provide first Utility with a single platform for handling the customer management and billing activities for its entire service portfolio, which include energy, gas and telecommunication services. The LogNet solution will help automate the business process for its multiple service environment.

The solution will also allow First Utility to use the real-time consumption-based data created by its smart meters to dynamically adjust pricing with the possibility of creating promotional plans, cross-product packages and loyalty schemes.

According to Mark Daeche, CEO of First Utility, the LogNet solution allows the company to enjoy competitive advantage through the smart meter readings. Its complex bundled scenarios create endless opportunities for the company to add more services to maximize customer satisfaction.

First Utility is creating one of the first large scale and fully integrated multiple service environments combining energy and telecommunications services and we are proud to be supporting such an ambitious project,” CEO of LogNet Billing Kirill Rechter commented in a statement.

In a press release, LogNet Systems announced that it will implement its multiple play solution for First Utility based on its MaxBill (News - Alert) product suite in compliance with the energy sector regulations in the United Kingdom that govern the obligations of gas and electricity suppliers.  By offering CRM, order management, meter management, rating, product catalog and invoicing functionalities, MaxBill system will replace a number of disparate legacy systems previously used by First Utility.

In March this year, LogNet Systems reported the winning of a contract from V.R.M. Voizplus Limited in Thailand for a multiple play customer management and billing solution.
