Loquendo announced recently that company provided voice synthesis technology, developed by Indisys and Sadiel, for Spain’s Junta de Andalucía Government new e-health service.
Maria Jesus Montero, chief officer of Health Andalucia, introduced the new service in March at the background of the 'Aaliance - The European Ambient (News - Alert) Assisted Living Innovation Alliance' conference.
The conference, held in Malaga, was aimed at how to improve the quality of life of the disabled and the elderly by boosting their autonomy via new technologies. The highly developed natural language solutions from Indisys play a significant role in e-health citizen services.
This new service is built via conversation - speaking and listening, between the user and the virtual assistant.
Isidro Fornos, strategy and marketing manager at Sadiel said that the time is right to implement technology more seriously in the health sector. This will improve the use of resources, the public interaction and the quality of assistance.
The virtual assistant, “Maria,” is a part Andalusia’s digital health strategy which also includes services such as electronic recipes, the multimedia platform ‘Informarse.es’, digital health history, the Health Telephone Answer service and the ‘Health Andalusia 24 hours’ service.
