Alvarion and Iberbanda Deploy 1000 WiMAX Base Stations

Tel-Aviv, Israel-based WiMAX (News - Alert) and wireless broadband solutions provider Alvarion Ltd. has announced that it has deployed 1,000 base stations in Spain, in partnership with leading Spanish WiMAX carrier Iberbanda. Powered by Alvarion’s (News - Alert) BreezeMAX base station solution at 3.5 GHz frequency, the deployments are providing high speed data and voice services to a large population in Spain.
Iberbanda aims to provide wireless broadband services in rural and underserved areas in Spain. It is already catering to communities such as Castilla y Leon, Catalunya, Navarra, and Andalucia.
