Telefonica (News - Alert) Espana has successfully implemented MACH's Fraud Protection Service.
This implementation has halved fraud incidences on the telecom operator’s international roaming network.
MACH, a provider of cloud-based managed communication services, notes that its service can rapidly detect incidences of fraud and thus serve as a serious fraud deterrent.
By combining subscriber intelligence from multiple networks, MACH's (News - Alert) service ensures that the characteristics of fraud identified on one network can be used to give early warning of fraud on another.
Individual operators cannot undertake this process on their own and the success of its project encouraged Telefonica Espana to renew its commitment to using MACH's Fraud Protection Service for the next few years.
MACH provides operators with advanced modelling techniques that not only profile subscribers but also compare their patterns of behaviour to that of fraudulent behaviour patterns.
Because fraud detection is based on many behavioural attributes, it results in reduced numbers of false alarms and enables operators to rapidly recognise and shut down fraud.
"MACH is currently working hard to ensure we have the most comprehensive solutions on the market to help operators combat fraud both at home and abroad -- as our recent acquisition of fraud specialist Optel Informatik (now MACH Solutions GmbH) demonstrates,” said Joseph George, director product management, Fraud and Revenue Assurance MACH.
“The fact that Telefonica Espana has renewed its commitment to our Fraud Protection Service shows how highly our propositions are esteemed by major global operators. We look forward to continuing to help Telefonica Espana drive down fraud across its operations.”
MACH was recently in news for helping TELE Greenland boost roaming traffic by 15 percent and roaming revenues by 20 percent.
