NTT Communications, a global ICT solutions provider, and Company TTK, the operator of Russia's largest fiber-optic network, have expanded their global IP-VPN in Russia by interconnecting NTT (News - Alert) Com's Arcstar Global IP-VPN and TTK's IP-VPN services in Russia.

As a result of this partnership, Arcstar Global IP-VPN service is now available throughout Russia, the company announced.

Russia is a key emerging market for NTT Com customers. Realizing this, the company had established their presence in Russia in January 2009.

TTK has been their strategic partner for NTT Com since 2006, when they began collaborating on the Hokkaido-Sakhalin Cable System, a 570 km, 640 gigabit/second undersea fiber-optic cable linking Ishikari, Hokkaido, and Nevelsk, Sakhalin, the shortest route between Japan and Russia, NTT Com officials said.

By interconnecting the two networks and harmonizing basic specifications and procedures, NTT Com and TTK will provide multinational customers with fully managed ICT services throughout Russia in support of their customers' ICT optimization initiatives.

“NTT Communications (News - Alert) has been working aggressively to support the global expansion of multinational enterprises by providing them with a growing range of high-quality services,” Yosuke Seki, NTT Com's vice president of Service Development in the Global Business Division, said in a statement.

“With our Russia-wide network, NTT Com will be able to secure good service coverage in the Russian Federation for its Global IP-VPN network,” Igor Kelshev, TTK senior vice president for International Sales and Marketing, in a statement. “For us it is another important step forward in our cooperation.”

NTT Com’s Arcstar Global IP-VPN services are available in 159 countries and regions. In February, NTT Europe Online, a European subsidiary of NTT Communications, announced the launch of a new service that allows customers to use virtualization on a global scale by accessing a comprehensive array of virtualization services via NTT Com network of premium data centers around the world.
