By Nathesh

The NDEV Mobile developer program from Nuance Communications (News - Alert) has been expanded to Russia. Nuance, a provider of voice and language solutions, asserted that NDEV mobile developer program would support speech-to-text and text-to-speech for the Russian language. Developers can now seamlessly access Dragon Mobile SDK while coding for voice-enable iOS, Android (News - Alert) and Windows Phone 7 apps.

Applications such as Amazon, Ask for iPhone, Merriam-Webster, Dictionary.com, RemoteLink from OnStar, SpeechTrans, Yellow Pages and AirYell from Avantar, iTranslate, Taskmind, SayHi Translate, Vocre, Bon’App, Shopping List from Recipes.com, and many others are voice enabled by NDEV mobile.

Nuance mentioned that it would offer three service tiers to the NDEV Silver, NDEV Gold and NDEV Emerald.

Using NDEV Silver Services Android, Windows Phone (News - Alert) 7 and iOS app developers can deploy their apps for free. Developers will get free access to Nuance’s connected text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities in over 30 languages. Some of the other benefits are that members get access to Bluetooth use cases, hands-free voice applications, quality speech recognition technology and centralized resource for speech information and expertise including on-line forums, code samples, and full documentation.

Members of NDEV Gold services would get access to SSL data encryption, Nuance’s HTTP web service interface, so that they can leverage power of Dragon to any mobile device and one-on-one Nuance assistance in addition to the NDEV Mobile online community resources.

Members of NDEV Emerald Services get to enjoy unique services customization and service options that bring Nuance’s extensive speech expertise and service capabilities to a diverse developer base – ranging from start-ups to wireless carriers, OEMs, and large enterprises.

Officials with the company stated that NDEV Mobile has received a tremendous response in Europe, with its robust cloud-based language support and incredibly easy integration. They have designed NDEV Mobile to be as hands-on or hands-off as developers need it to be – all without compromising the quality of their Dragon voice technology. And it’s only getting better as they continue to roll out the program in more regions with more languages around the world.

Nuance Communications added that the Dragon Mobile SDK is available for iOS 4.0 and 5.0 (iPhone (News - Alert)/iPad/iPod touch), Android 2.1 and higher, Windows Phone 7.1, and via an HTTP web services interface.
