Turkcell has announced that P3 Communications conducted a series of tests around Istanbul and as a result, awarded them a “leadership certificate” for the speed of their 3G Internet.

 

According to officials with Turkcell (News - Alert), the tests and measurements have confirmed Turkcell's 3G Internet service is up to 2 times faster than the 3G internet services offered by other mobile operators in Turkey.

 

P3 Communications conducted these tests using ISO 9001:2000 certified quality management systems in January 2010.

 

Ilter Terzioglu, Turkcell's chief network operations officer said, “Turkcell's 3G coverage has exceeded 70 percent in the last 6 months. In August 2009 and in January 2010, an international independent audit of all 3G operators confirmed that Turkcell is the fastest operator in mobile Internet in Turkey. Turkcell has planned to invest $1.6 billion in 2009.”

 

Recently, IE Market Research Corp., a Canadian-based provider of market intelligence services, announced the released its 1Q.2010 Turkey Operator Forecast, 2009 - 2014. The company forecasted that Turkcell's EBITDA margin will remain at approximately 33 percent from 2010 to 2014.
