ARRIS, a global communications technology company specializing in the design, engineering and supply of technology supporting quad-play broadband services for residential and business customers, in association with its value-added reseller LICA s.r.o., has reportedly deployed DOCSIS 3.0 C4 CMTS' broadband access at 4 MSOs across the Czech Republic.

 

LICA has been delivering a wide range of services for digital broadcasting systems including turn-key solutions for data transmission over DOCSIS 3.0.

 

Claudio Cerioli, senior vice president, EMEA Sales, ARRIS, said that the company is pleased to provide its Czech Republic customers with the most reliable CMTS solution for their growing subscriber needs.

 

“European cable subscribers have come to expect the highest quality Internet experience and the ARRIS C4 CMTS has the availability, density and reliability that delivers,” Cerioli added.

 

The ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS solution consists of the C4 CMTS and WBM760B wideband modems, capable of delivering very high speed data service. The technology is based on the DOCSIS 3.0 standard that supports both Upstream and Downstream channel bonding capabilities.

 

Additionally, the system supports DOCSIS 1.1/2.0/3.0 and PacketCable features, enabling operators with a wide array of Quality of Service capabilities to deploy revenue-generating services. The company recently released version 7.1 of the C4 CMTS system which is said to include a host of value-added features, such as IP Detail Records (IPDR/SP), OSPF in five VRFs, 802.1Q VLAN tagging, SII Lawful Intercept, and scaling to 20,000 subscriber devices.

 

Reportedly, the companies now deploying this solution include Elsat s.r.o., BKS Capital Partners, Self Servis and Kabelova Televize Koprivnice. Approximately 93 percent of the Czech Republic's 1.2 million homes passed by cable are served by Elsat, BKS, Self Servis and UPC Czech Republic.
