i2Telecom and Windmill Provide International Calling for Military Personnel

A Roswell, Georgia-based developer of mobile applications and services, i2Telecom International, Inc. has teamed up with Windmill International (News - Alert), Inc. to develop a special international calling service for U.S. military personnel serving abroad and their families.

Windmill International is a veteran-owned financial and government services company with a considerable presence in Central and Eastern European markets.

The two companies, in conjunction with the USO, will provide an international long-distance calling solution tailored for U.S. service men and women that is powered by i2Telecom’s (News - Alert) acclaimed MyGlobalTalk product.

MyGlobalTalk works any place where mobile service is available. It does not require a Wi-Fi connection and the pay-as-go model eliminates the hassles of contracts, connection fees or call minimums.

This means users can make and receive international and long distance mobile calls irrespective of wireless carrier or voice/data plan for as low as two cents per minute anywhere in the world. This will be achieved by routing calls through the MyGlobalTalk network.

By joining hands with Windmill International, i2Telecom will be able to extend MyGlobalTalk’s bi-directional capabilities to Eastern Europe, including Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Serbia.

“We are very proud of our participation in this new partnership,” said Andy Berman, chief executive officer of i2Telecom. “We are in business to help our customers stay connected with those who matter most to them. Providing this type of service to our military men and women living overseas and their families is a huge honor.”

Earlier this year, TMCnet reported that i2Telecom also unveiled MyGlobalTalk for Apple’s iPhone (News - Alert).
