Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a global provider of managed IT infrastructure services, reportedly has launched so-called “Enterprise Cloud” services in Europe.

 

“The availability of Enterprise Cloud services to our customers in Europe provides them with an innovative and powerful solution to their IT infrastructure needs,” said Kurt Glazemakers, CTO for Terremark’s European operations.

 

Glazemakers said that by purchasing a dedicated resource pool of processing, memory and storage, the Enterprise Cloud offers the customers more flexibility and agility over the traditional server based model, allowing for a precise and dynamic allocation of computing resources as needed.

 

Terremark officials say they see Enterprise Cloud as a game-changing managed computing platform that gives customers the ability to provision, configure, deploy and manage computing resources for mission-critical applications in minutes, giving control over a flexible pool of computing resources with a Web-based console for deploying server capacity on demand.

 

The company upgraded Enterprise Cloud with the addition of Dynamic Capacity Management, which allows customers access to on-demand computing capacity with greater flexibility.

 

“As we continue to expand the availability of the Enterprise Cloud across our global datacenter footprint, we are able to offer our customers worldwide a ‘true cloud’ solution for their IT infrastructure needs,” said Manuel D. Medina, chairman and chief executive officer of Terremark.

 

Medina said that based on the Enterprise Cloud’s success in the United States and existing demand for enterprise-class cloud computing services in Europe, the company expects strong demand for the Enterprise Cloud from the current customers and prospects in Europe.

 

As TMCnet reported, the U.S General Services Administration selected Terremark Worldwide’s (News - Alert) Enterprise Cloud platform to power USA.gov, the federal government’s official Web portal.
