Taulia Inc. has recently received Safe Harbor certification from the U.S. Department of Commerce, for its SaaS (News - Alert) Dynamic Discounting and Supplier Portal offering, which provides significant financial benefits to both large organizations and their suppliers.
To achieve this certification, Taulia had to follow some stringent rules and align to strict privacy principles that were placed by the Department of Commerce in conjunction with the European Union.
Company officials said that they had to notify their customers in advance to collect personal data, transfer information to third parties and comply with similar privacy standards, allowing customers access and the ability to update their own information, maintaining integrity through the proper use of customer information, providing adequate security of information and ensuring proper enforcement. The company even gave an option to their customers to opt out.
The new certification is allowing Taulia to comply with European privacy laws and safely meet all necessary requirements for trans-Atlantic business transactions.
"As a company with a global customer reach, privacy is of the utmost importance to Taulia," said Bertram Meyer, CEO of Taulia. "We work with Global 2000 organizations to achieve significant cost savings on their annual invoice spend, while providing their suppliers a more cost-effective way to manage cash flow. As such, it is crucial that we maintain the highest of privacy standards to ensure our customers are safe to conduct their business around the world. Receiving the Safe Harbor certification demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the strictest of privacy standards for our valued customers."
The company has also achieved the well-respected TRUSTe Privacy Seal from the leading independent online privacy solutions provider, TRUSTe. This was awarded after TRUSTe reviewed Taulia's privacy practices to ensure they are compliant with Safe Harbor as well as TRUSTe's own strict regulations.
TRUSTe's privacy seal is recognized and trusted by millions of consumers as a sign of responsible privacy practices.
