Fortinet (News - Alert), a provider of network security and unified threat management (UTM) solutions, announced that its FortiGate multi-threat network security appliances has been selected by Telekomunikacja Polska (News - Alert), a Poland-based telecommunications provider, to be included within its "Managed UTM" solution. Telekomunikacja’s latest offering has been designed to enhance security of internal networks within SMBs and large sized enterprises against external risks.
To help enhance network security for business customers, Polish Telecom focused on delivering customer premise equipment (CPE) managed security services in addition to management support. By doing this business customers will not be required to maintain dedicated in-house IT security resources to support installation, management, and maintenance of the existing security solution.
Prior to selecting the FortiGate integrated security platform from Fortinet, Polish Telecom carried out detailed analysis of the various security solutions currently available in the market. However, the powerful and extensive array of security capabilities present within the FortiGate integrated security platform as well as the advanced level of support delivered by Fortinet were the leading reasons behind its adoption by Polish Telecom. Furthermore, the FortiGate integrated security solution provides users with the benefits of high quality and high service availability along with simplified management.
In a release, Izabela Bialek, Director -- Data Transmission Services and Integration, TP Group Business Segment Marketing at Telekomunikacja Polska, said, "With our new 'Managed UTM' services, we help our customers secure their networks security and give them peace of mind. We found that Fortinet is uniquely positioned to provide broad security solutions that are highly reliable, easy to manage, maintain, and scale according to our clients' needs. With Fortinet's appliances, our customers can enjoy maximum security and minimal complexity."
The FortiGate integrated security solution has been designed with security components which include antivirus, firewall, intrusion prevention (IPS) and Web filtering. Polish Telecom will offer a basic model and advanced model Managed UTM services options to customers. FortiGate appliances within the basic services option will be handled by the customer while maintenance and servicing will be supported by Polish Telecom. However, installation and configuration for the device will be offered to customers at an additional fee.
Under the advanced model option, Polish Telecom will be responsible for managing complete security deployment in addition to round the clock maintenance and management as well as replacement, monitoring, device configuration backup and recovery of Fortinet appliances.
