Siklu Communication, expert in mobile wireless backhaul market, has been nominated as a finalist for the MEF (News - Alert) & IIR Best Carrier Ethernet Mobile Backhaul Product EMEA 2011 award. The company received the nomination in recognition of its efforts to enable low cost Gigabit speed delivery by its EtherHaul millimeter wave radio while displaying full carrier Ethernet networking functionalities in an outdoor and low power unit.
Winners for the MEF & IIR award will be announced on Wednesday October 12th at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2011 which will be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Siklu will display its EtherHaul solution at stand 15 at the conference.
In a release, Gaby Junowicz (News - Alert), VP marketing and business development at Siklu, said, “Siklu is delighted to be recognized by the MEF & IIR for its ability to provide both Gigabit speeds and advanced carrier Ethernet networking in a low cost, low power all-outdoor radio. Siklu is committed to providing innovative backhaul solutions for mobile operators and business service providers. We will continue to develop standards-based full-featured backhaul solutions priced significantly lower than industry norms that integrate seamlessly with carrier networks”.
Siklu adopted an all-silicon technology while developing the EtherHaul Gigabit capacity E-band millimeter systems which enabled the company to bring about 80 percent reductions in its price. Further enhancing its offerings, Siklu successfully provided full carrier Ethernet capabilities and features which were standard compliant. The radio built to function in an out-door environment is light weight, has a compact size and displays low power consumption and because of its full carrier Ethernet capabilities, the need to run an additional device is eliminated. With these functionalities, Siklu has successfully developed a cost-effective and low TCO backhaul offering, capable of providing site acquisition and faster deployment.
Since 2008, Siklu Communications which is based near Tel Aviv, Israel, has focussed its efforts on developing cost-effective high capacity wireless backhaul solutions for a number of providers across the globe. The company's adoption of silicon technology in the millimetric wave radio system design has resulted in substantial reductions in the pricing of the systems.
