Agama’s monitoring solution has been selected by Faroese Telecom for its linear IPTV (News - Alert) service distribution. Faroese Telecom will be able to ensure a good TV experience for their customers with this deployed end-to-end solution. Faroese Telecom will be also able to achieve operational excellence in their video delivery with this solution. An announcement in this regard has been made by the DTV quality assurance expert, Agama Technologies. Faroese Telecom is the current Telco in the Faroe Islands.
All the traditional national telecom services in the Faroe Island are provided by the incumbent service operator, Faroese Telecom. These include a TV service on a terrestrial DVB-T network. The next natural step with IPTV is now being taken up by the organization. Deploying Agama's DTV Monitoring Solution has been decided by the Telco. Each subscriber's home will be therefore ensured IPTV service quality.
In a release, Edvard Joensen, Head of Business Development at Faroese Telecom said,
"We want to make sure that our customer will have an extraordinary TV experience when entering IPTV service and by monitoring the whole IPTV supply chain, including the set-top box, we can verify the service quality delivered in the customer home, as well as avoiding truck rolls."
According to Joensen, a very viable monitoring solution with a broad set of monitoring features has been provided by the established and experienced vendor, Agama.
Real-time IPTV service quality monitoring from the head-end to each individual subscriber is performed by the selected solution. The services from the playout are correct in all dimensions will be continuously verified by the Agama Analyzer. All deployed Amino 140 and 540 STBs are seamlessly integrated with the Agama Embedded Monitoring probe. Stateful and efficient service quality monitoring of each connected subscriber is therefore provided.
