DEV Systemtechnik, Germany, has expanded its North American presence with the formation of a U.S. subsidiary, DEV America.

DEV America, which develops and produces a complete range of leading-edge, high-performance products and systems for the optical and electrical transmission of Radio Frequency (RF) signals via coaxial cable or fiber for satellite, cable, and broadcast television head ends, is expected to support growing customer requirements for the company's products.

"For years, our customers and leading broadcast systems integrators have chosen to deploy DEV equipment in solutions for critical on-air broadcast and satellite systems throughout the US," said Joerg Schmidt, CEO of DEV in a statement.

"With our increased US presence, DEV will be even better positioned to meet growing demand for our advanced technologies from satellite teleports, uplinks, direct-to-home (DTH) and IPTV (News - Alert) head ends, as well as cable TV systems and playout facilities,” said Schmidt.

Schmidt said that the company also looks forward to working closely with the current and new distributors in the US to help customers achieve the highest signal quality and reliability while reducing costs, overhead, rack space, power and heat consumption.

Back in March, DEV Systemtechnik announced that Sandra Squire has joined the company's UK team as Area Sales Manager.

Sandra will be UK-based and responsible for building DEV Systemtechnik's sales presence. She will support the growing number of existing customers already using DEVs RF Signal transmission solutions from satellite to receiver.

Prior to joining DEV Systemtechnik Sandra was very successful developing markets for Snell & Wilcox (News - Alert), CODAN & Pro-Bel.

In the same month, DEV Systemtechnik had presented new redundancy options for its Intelligent Optribution Chassis DEV 7114. According to DEV’s motto “less is more,” RF signals can be optically transmitted, switched and distributed with increased security.
