SecureLogix Corporation (News - Alert) recently announced that it has received its 15th patent, EP 1415459 B1. This patent is responsible for protecting the core technology in the company’s award-winning Enterprise Telephony Management System, a voice and unified communications network security policy enforcement and ROI intelligence solution for the enterprise.

This new patent will further strengthen the ETM System’s present patent protection in Europe. The patent is valid in Germany, France and the United Kingdom and it is entitled Telephony Security System.

SecureLogix started building an intellectual property portfolio in 1998, when it filed its first patent application, named Telephony Security System. The company then increased its initial patent application with a number of Continuation and Continuation-in-Part patent applications. 15 U.S. and international patents along with more than 500 patent claims are currently owned by SecureLogix. These patents are responsible for protecting inventions within one of three technology groups: telephony security, monitoring, and usage reporting; policy-based autonomous telephony encryption; and integrated telephony resource vulnerability assessment and management. They are the foundation of an intellectual property portfolio which protects telecommunications security, monitoring and management technologies developed by SecureLogix for its ETM System product.

The ETM System is the provider of enterprise-wide, real-time security policy enforcement, ROI intelligence, network security protection, fraud prevention, voice service performance and usage visibility, and voice/UC network access control across distributed, multi-vendor networks. The system is responsible for protecting enterprise telecom and data networks from telephony-borne threats, like the telephony denial-of-service (TDOS), social engineering schemes, toll fraud, service abuse, harassing calls, information theft, modem line backdoors into the corporate LAN and other unauthorized phone traffic and usage.

By using the ETM System's voice usage and performance management applications phone bills and other voice network operational costs for the enterprise can be significantly reduced through centralized call auditing, resource utilization reporting, and performance/QoS monitoring, alerting and management. TDM and VoIP, both are supported by the system, facilitating truly unified voice policy enforcement and management.

SecureLogix 6th generation solutions allow customers in saving money through securing and optimizing IP Telephony and legacy voice networks, enabling cost efficient and confident migration to tomorrow’s Unified Communications (News - Alert). SecureLogix solutions currently protect and manage more than three-and-a-half million enterprise phone lines.
