There is always a demand from patients for a better and more comfortable scanning experience and the new wide-bore MR system from GE addresses this demand. In particular, it accommodates patients who are usually difficult to scan, such as obese, claustrophobic, elderly or very young patients.

Users can now reduce exam time and scan large anatomies with fewer scans with GE Healthcare’s Optima MR450w, which combines next-generation clinical applications and a full 50 cm field of view. The Optima MR450w offers powerful applications that improve usability as it is built on a fully redesigned MR platform. It provides features such as redesigned platform for enhanced image quality and patient-centered optimization.
Recently, the company partnered with Ascom Wireless Solutions to address the lack of coordination and communication between health care providers. GE Healthcare and Ascom (News - Alert) Wireless Solutions came together to launch a wireless hospital-wide messaging system. The partnership is expected to improve workflow and communication for healthcare providers. The agreement aligns the GE Healthcare patient monitoring platform with Ascom’s wireless communication solutions.
