Business school ESSCA has selected NextiraOne (News - Alert) to renew its unified communications infrastructure for its sites at Angers and Boulogne. A Microsoft Lync server environment and Exchange 2010 have been used by NextiraOne for the architecture. An announcement in this regard has been made by the top expert in communications services in Europe, NextiraOne. ESSCA is one of the top higher education colleges in France.

In a release, Patrick Seigeot, Director of Information Systems at ESSCA, said, “We wanted to be able to provide our staff and students in France and abroad with new opportunities to collaborate and work at an international level. Thanks to the services provided by NextiraOne we are able to offer powerful collaboration tools that are also easy to use. NextiraOne’s teams have worked closely with us and advised us throughout the project.”

A Lync architecture solution for 250 users has been designed by NextiraOne in order to carry out this major project. An integrated solution has also been deployed by NextiraOne to the desktop. Migration to Exchange 2010 was completed by NextiraOne by working closely with ESSCA. Desktop and SIP terminals were also migrated to Outlook 2010 and Lync Client 2010 for telephony, video, messaging, presence and collaboration.

An external Lync web portal has been included in the deployment of the Lync solution on the Angers and Boulogne sites. Centralized administration of the unified communications solution is therefore allowed. Change management and skills transfer services have also been provided by NextiraOne.

Sebastian Penel, Business Solution Manager at NextiraOne said, "The new unified communications infrastructure will enable ESSCA to benefit from the seamless integration of all its communication tools at the desktop and access to collaboration tools from the French sites and also from abroad. The infrastructure we have put in place will provide an efficient, easy to use environment for students and staff at the business school.”
