TransGaming and Free Set the Trend for On-Demand Video in France

The on-demand Smart TV gaming platform has transformed how electronic entertainment is delivered across multiple platforms. TransGaming Inc, takes the credit for this by offering unparalleled user experience on next-generation set-top boxes and CE devices.



TransGaming Inc., announced the commercial launch of its innovative GameTree TV gaming platform with top-tier broadband service operator Free, a subsidiary of Iliad, a major player in the French telecommunications. TransGaming hosted a conference call for investors on April 26, 2011.

"Today's commercial launch of our innovative platform, GameTree TV, represents the culmination of years of innovation and strategic investment and also marks the start of an exciting new revenue stream for the company," said Vikas Gupta, CEO & president of TransGaming, in a press release.

He praised Free's ability to live up to its reputation as an innovator in the consumer Internet market by being the first operator to offer GameTree TV and said that France was demonstrating its leadership position in on-demand Smart TV gaming. Gupta hoped that other markets would follow suit.

Freebox Revolution (News - Alert), a next generation set-top box launched December 14, is said to have transformed the television experience into a fully connected Smart TV experience. In combination with GameTree TV, French customers can now experience exciting, family-friendly interactive entertainment.

TransGaming's GameTree TV platform is fully optimized for the Freebox's Intel (News - Alert) CE system-on-chip processor, one of the most popular choices for Smart TV hardware.

Lance Koenders, director of worldwide marketing, Intel Digital Home Group, commented on the bright future for on-demand gaming on Smart TV and said, "TransGaming has put itself ahead of the curve with the GameTree TV platform, which is a great example of the enhanced entertainment experiences that Intel CE-based devices can deliver."

With GameTree TV a customers can now instantly play on-demand games directly from the cloud and launches with 25 titles on the Freebox Revolution with the capacity to add more games. Flexible pricing models and direct billing by Free in the monthly invoice makes it easy for customers.

"The GameTree TV platform adds a compelling new dimension to our entertainment portfolio, further differentiating our unique offering" said Maxime Lombardini, CEO of Free's holding company.

In related news, Softkinetic, the leading 3D gesture recognition software and solution provider, and TransGaming Inc., announced their collaboration to bring gesture-based video games to TransGaming’s on-demand gaming platform.
