Renée Fleming to Deliver Keynote at Tessitura Learning & Community Conference

Tessitura Network announced today that world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming will deliver the keynote address at the Tessitura Learning & Community Conference (TLCC) in Orlando on August 18. Said Ms. Fleming, "As someone who cares deeply about the arts, especially the centuries-old tradition of classical singing, it will be exciting for me to be a part of this conference. Beyond its innovative software, Tessitura Network's international reach and its core value of collaboration are improving operational excellence for arts and cultural organizations around the world."

Ms. Fleming will be speaking at the conference following a season that included opening in a new production of The Merry Widow at the Metropolitan Opera, performing for Prince William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, receiving Germany's Cross of the Order of Merit, and making her Broadway debut. Delivering the keynote at TLCC and sharing her observations, thoughts and insights with Tessitura Network's global gathering of arts and cultural leaders will advance Ms. Fleming's already substantial role as an ambassador to the arts and cultural sector working to ensure that the sector remains vibrant, innovative and relevant. Although she is a notable presence in the opera world, her resume boasts roles that extend far beyond the world's most distinguished opera houses. She was the first classical singer to perform the "Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl, and she forged a vital new role as creative consultant to Lyric Opera of Chicago helping to launch and steer Lyric Unlimited, a multifaceted program of expanded community engagement and artistic initiatives. The conference is only open to Tessitura license holders but Ms. Fleming's presentation will be broadcast live and available for anyone to watch via the Internet (reneeflemingkeynote.tessituranetwork.com).

Tessitura Network is a not-for-profit organization that provides the arts and cultural sector with industry-leading ticketing, customer relationship management, fundraising and web technology, enabling organizations to run their businesses more efficiently, unify information enterprise-wide and communicate effectively. Tessitura's annual conference is an opportunity for arts and cultural professionals worldwide to gather for nearly five full days to share best practices in the field and learn from one another. This year TLCC will have over 240 discussion sessions, peer-to-peer presentations, software trainings and a multitude of networking opportunities.

Jack Rubin, President of the Tessitura Network, noted, "We are awed by the opportunity to have Renée Fleming share her thoughts on topics for which she has been a strong advocate - audience development, community engagement and arts education - at TLCC. A key aspect of our mission is to 'enable knowledge and best practice sharing between peers and organizations' as we advance the business of arts and culture. The ideas, insights, observations and advice that Ms. Fleming will discuss will inspire and energize 1400+ professionals attending as their organizations seek to expand audiences and deepen engagement with their communities. It is fascinating that she has been the star headliner of so many wonderful performances and galas at hundreds of the venues that we serve, and now she will be able to help them advance their organizations in new and exciting ways."
