Designed and manufactured at Telephonics' Long Island, New York facilities, the Mark XII/A, All-Mode AN/UPX-44 IFF interrogator will enable the Swedish military to identify aircraft, vehicles or forces as friendly while determining the bearing and range of their location. The system is DoD AIMS certified with the latest Mode S capability upgrades, ensuring compatibility and interoperability with Swedish armed forces as well as civilian airspace systems.

"Telephonics is extremely pleased to be selected for these critical defense programs, effectively helping to secure, manage and monitor airspace, water as well as land borders around Sweden," said Joseph J. Battaglia, President and Chief Executive Officer of Telephonics.

"The AN/UPX-44's versatility will allow Sweden to utilize the same platform across their different military disciplines, leading to enhanced operator knowledge during aircraft, vehicle or force identification."
