Audivo Integrates CSR's VibeHub™ Networked Audio Platform to Significantly Ease Development of Whole Home Audio Solutions

SAN JOSE, Calif. & CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom --(Business Wire)--

Audio solutions provider Audivo has launched the world's first system-on-module based on the VibeHub™ home networked audio solution from CSR plc (LSE: CSR; NASDAQ: CSRE). Audivo Multiroom Audio Solution (AMAS) is a turnkey solution that allows ODMs to quickly develop and easily integrate networked audio capabilities into their products.

The VibeHub platform, which was launched earlier this year, can be used to build wireless speakers, intelligent audio adaptors, networked audio amplifiers and a wide range of other connected audio products. Using the VibeHub SyncLock™ technology, these devices can pull content from multiple sources including digital media servers and mobile devices, and simultaneously distribute the audio around the home in a tightly synchronized manner ensuring that there is no audible delay when walking between zones in the home.

"We found VibeHub to be the best and most flexible networked audio solution on the market," said Thomas Wolff, Business Development Manager at Audivo. "The complex nature of networked audio can cause unnecessary delays to an ODM's time to market. By combining CSR's solution with Audivo's experience in making the latest technology easily accessible, we are mitigating any risks and unforeseen costs that an ODM could possibly encounter when integrating networked audio into their products."

VibeHub's extensible networking capabilities enable interoperability with a wide range of today's popular wireless streaming protocols, including Apple's AirPlay (News - Alert), which means that consumers aren't limited to buying into a specific ecosystem. VibeHub already supports analog input, input from UPnP and DLNA sources via Ethernet/WLAN, as well as Bluetooth with CSR aptX® coding technologies for high-quality audio. AMAS builds on these features by including capability for Internet and DAB radio and premium music services, as well as a fully featured iOS and Android (News - Alert) app for smartphones and tablets.

"Our aim with VibeHub is to enable ODMs to bring fantastic audio products to market that can play music synchronously around the home at a low cost of entry for the consumer. We are creating a truly flexible and open ecosystem based around CSR's SyncLock™ enabling consumers to build home audio networks that suit their individual needs," said Anthony Murray, Senior Vice President, Business Group at CSR. "Audivo is adding even more flexibility and functionality into the mix and is offering the added value of providing it on a module that is incredibly easy to integrate. We anticipate many manufacturers will adopt this solution to make fully-featured, truly flexible and easy to use distributed audio solutions a reality for consumers."
