Russian Federation,Sweden : MegaFon to use ERICSSON equipment to upgrade its telecom infrastructure [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MegaFon and Sweden s Ericsson have entered into a 7-year cooperative agreement to develop and upgrade MegaFon s telecommunications infrastructure. Under the agreement, Ericsson will render hardware and software equipment to MegaFon for upgrading its 2G, 3G and 4G cellular networks. It includes a large portion of MegaFon s existing infrastructure which will be entirely replaced with Ericsson equipment. MegaFon Director of Infrastructure Yevgeny Chermashentsev said, With this contract, we are opening a new stage in the cooperation between the two companies. The choice of such a reliable partner as Ericsson will allow us to offer customers the most modern technological solutions. I express my gratitude to the management and the entire Ericsson team for their work and a willingness to meet a partner. It is estimated that the initial phase of the infrastructural enhancement work will be carried out in MegaFon s northwest service branches in late 2014. Charlotte Sund, the head of Ericsson in North Europe and Central Asia, said, The agreement with MegaFon takes our partnership to a new level.
