Tajikistan reportedly limits access to social network Odnoklassniki [AKIpress News Agency (Kyrgyz Republic)]


(AKIpress News Agency (Kyrgyz Republic) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Internet service providers of Tajikistan have limited access to one of the most popular social networks in the country – Odnoklassniki.

Internet users report that they have no access to the social network since last Saturday. Subscribers of Saturn-Online, Babylon-T, Megafon Tajikistan, Telecom Technology and Tcell do not have the access in particular.

Earlier, on July 9, access to video hosting YouTube was limited. Tajik authorities periodically close access to news sources and social networks.



Odnoklassniki is a social network service for classmates and old friends. It is popular in Russia and former Soviet Republics. The website currently claims that it has more than 200 million registered users and 45 million daily unique visitors. Revenues in the first quarter of 2008 for Odnoklassniki amounted to $3.3 million.
