Andrey Pyatakhin, Director General of ArmenTel CJSC, said at today's press conference that IPTV is available in all the towns and 30 smaller settlements of Armenia.

"On the telecommunication market of Armenia, ArmenTel traditionally gives high priority to overall development of the infrastructure. The IPTV service is in demand even in the most remote corners of Armenia and the major part of the population has a real opportunity to connect to IPTV through Beeline. We consider investing in the towns and villages of the country to be part of our corporate policy", said Pyatakhin. He thinks that even at a conservative estimate nearly 30% of ArmenTel's customers will make use of IPTV.

SPB TV Director General Kirill Filippov, in turn, pointed out that at the initial stage the subscribers can make use of the standard television package that includes over 50 local and foreign TV channels. In the near future the tariff plans of the service will regularly be expanded and the available channels will be increased in number. The video signal formats are SD and HD. The monthly subscription fee for the standard package of channels is 3,000 AMD. The subscribers are also provided with set top boxes, which can be connected to the subscribers' internet modems through the network cable or by means of a Wi-Fi adapter. The customers can also make use of the IPTV equipment installation service for 1,700 AMD.

"The television market of Armenia is one of the most developed ones in the CIS. According to our surveys, the IPTV segment was the leader in that market in money terms in 2013. Our technologies and experience allow us to hope that we will be able to effectively compete and satisfy the population's needs for high- quality and diversified video", said Filippov.
