Germany : NSN CEO Rajeev Suri meets Chinese President Xi Jinping in Germany [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NSN CEO Rajeev Suri joined an exclusive group of 10 business leaders for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuang on Saturday, March 29. The discussions, ahead of an official banquet in honor of the President s visit to Germany, focused on bilateral trade and successful collaboration between the two countries. Nokia Solutions and Networks is the largest company that operates in the mobile telecom infrastructure sector in Germany, and it also has a longstanding presence in China, with particular success in the cooperative development of TD technologies over the past 16 years.

The Chinese President and the First Lady were welcomed by Sigmar Gabriel, German Minister of Economics and Energy, Hannelore Kraft, Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia and Hubert Lienhard, Chairman of Asia-Pacific Committee (APA) as well as the German business delegation. The Chinese entourage included Gao Hucheng, Minister of Commerce and 12 Chinese business leaders.

China and Germany share a goal of successful bilateral trade and investment collaboration. NSN has a long history in both countries with strong support from their governments and their major mobile operators.

Over the past 30 years, NSN has demonstrated its commitment to China s telecom sector, said Suri. NSN is at the forefront of bringing 4G TD-LTE technology to the world, showing the potential for joint innovation between Europe and China.

Suri also highlighted that he remembers President Xi s support in the early days of building NSN s R&D center in Hangzhou - now one of the biggest technology centers in the telecom industry.

In fact, the meeting is a further recognition of NSN s contribution to the development of the telecom industry in both countries. Today, the company has key R&D competencies in its LTE development center in Ulm, Germany, and a full value chain in China including TD-LTE global R&D headquarters, manufacturing, customer operations, sales, marketing and services. Development of TD-LTE is an excellent example of successful Sino-German cooperation with joint effort of NSN s R&D centers in Ulm and Hangzhou, and the China Academy of Telecommunications Research. Recently, NSN announced its plans to establish a Mobile Broadband Security Center in Berlin.
