Doubts over windfall from digital spectrum
Feb 20, 2013 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) --
The Australian Government could raise up to $A3 billion from its upcoming auction of wireless spectrum. This is despite only Telstra and Singtel Optus being expected to take part. However, the Government's forecasts could be in doubt, following the outcome of a similar auction in the UK. The British Government had hoped the auction would raise Stg3.5 billion, but it only achieved Stg2.34 billion ($A3.5 billion).
