SK&A Introduces New Online Counts Feature and Improves Geographic Targeting

SK&A, A Cegedim Company, a leading provider of healthcare information solutions and research, today announced that its online, on-demand counts interface, Live Counts, now allows registered users to save count queries for later retrieval. This new feature enables users to archive all data count and selects history for orders to minimize the time it takes to refresh and reorder healthcare-professional contact and organization data.

"With this improvement to Live Counts, we have added the ability to save counts history and complex criteria. Returning users can now refresh previous counts with a single click," said SK&A Managing Director Albert Chang. "We have also enhanced user features by increasing search radiuses to up to 200 miles. This expansion brings our customers better usability and improved geographic targeting."

Live Counts is SK&A's online self-service tool that allows users to independently pick and choose datasets based on their preferences for physician sites and hospital sites. Registration to the Live Counts portal is not required to run counts, but it is required to purchase data.

Live Counts allows users to identify targets by job title, practice specialty, practice size, patient volume, geography and other selects such as hospital type and hospital bed count. In addition, identifiers such as DEA number, NPI and the American Hospital Association ID are available to append to records as needed. Orders are released to the client in an Excel format within 30 minutes of approval of credit card transaction and agreement of terms and conditions. There is no minimum order required, which makes Live Counts an affordable solution for test campaigns or small orders.

Live Counts was launched in January 2008 with SK&A's Office-Based Physician database. With 765,000 physicians, it is the largest database of telephone-verified prescribing physicians at their office locations. The database also contains nurse practitioners, physician assistants, business managers and others for over 1.2 million total contacts. The Hospital database was incorporated into Live Counts in May 2008, and it represents 222,000 hospital decision makers, including department directors, managers and chiefs.

SK&A's database contains over 2.1 million profiles for healthcare practitioners and decision makers at 480,000-plus healthcare facilities. A uniquely designed telephone-verification process ensures the consistent monitoring of profiles to bring clients the most high-quality data. The verification process ensures that no record is ever added to SK&A's databases until it is telephone verified at the source by one of SK&A's in-house research associates.
