Alcatel-Lucent showcases 12 new cloud-based ng Connect service concepts at CES 2013


Jan 03, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext and NYSE:ALU) will be demonstrating 12 new cloud-based service concepts created by its ng Connect Program at the 2013 ConsumerElectronics Show, South Hall Booth 31412, showcasing new ideas aimed atstimulating application innovation as consumers seek ever more excitingexperiences from connected devices like smartphones and tablets.



The ng Connect Program - founded by Alcatel-Lucent - is a multi-industry'ecosystem' dedicated to the creation of the next-generation user experiencefor connected consumers. The program is comprised of more than 190 member companies, of either Contributing orAssociate membership levels, and including leading network, application andcontent providers and consumer electronics manufacturers. Among the most recentmembers to join the ng Connect ecosystem is Sprint, the first North Americaservice provider to become part of the program.

o Cloud-based learningplatforms that empower teachers, while engaging students in a 21 st century learning environment, as well as enterprise learning.

o Communications ApplicationProgramming Interfaces (APIs) that make application development easy andquickly without having to delve into the underlying IMS technology.

o An open standards-basedpublic safety service concept that leverages commercial offerings for enhancedcapabilities, such as vehicle tracking and surveillance, and significantlylower costs.
