Extra building for Bigmouthmedia as client list grows [Scotland on Sunday]
(Scotland on Sunday Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DIGITAL marketing agency Bigmouthmedia is about to take on a third building in Leith as the company continues to notch up a series of big-name clients wins, including Coca-Cola, Ikea and Royal Bank of Scotland. In the past year, the company has taken on a further 50 staff in Edinburgh, swelling its headcount in the city to 130 as it took on a second office. Now the firm plans to take on a further 30 staff as part of its multi-million pound investment as it handles work for customers including car manufacturer Honda, software giant Microsoft and brewer SAB Miller. Lyndsay Menzies, chief executive at Bigmouthmedia, told Scotland on Sunday: "We're taking over Leith."We've expanded dramatically. Although we have offices all over the world, we use Edinburgh as one of our hubs for central services so clients as far afield as Australia are able to tap into expertise from our Scottish team."Along with the UK, the company also has large operations in Germany and the United States and 25 offices in total, including sites in Belgium, India and Sweden.Menzies said the company was also expanding in China (Beijing and Shanghai) and Sydney, where Paul Moneath has recently arrived from Scotland to grow the Australian operation.News of the rapid growth for the firm comes just two years after Bigmouthmedia merged with Netherlands-listed Lost Boys International (LBI).The expanded company offers a broader range of services, with Bigmouthmedia focusing on search engine work and social media campaigns and LBI generating much of the broader online content.Menzies said the new set up had allowed Bigmouthmedia to expand its relationships with companies such as Skype, by offering it more services. She also revealed that Bigmouthmedia founder Steve Leach had completed the sale of his stake in LBI last year and had now left the business.Leach is focusing on the launch of his GBP20 million venture capital fund, which will invest in a range of companies, including those operating in the renewable energy and technology sectors.
