iCONECT Brings Legal Review and Litigation Support to Tablet Devices
(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Reston, VA (PRWEB) March 20, 2012
iCONECT Development, LLC, providers of web-based e-discovery and litigation software, announced that with the XERA e-discovery review platform, it is bringing the ability to perform document review to tablet devices including the iPad. XERA which is browser agnostic and developed in HTML5 delivers the functionality of legal review and litigation support – previously limited to desktops and laptops – to the new generation of tablet toting lawyers and paralegals. This revolutionary document review platform can be accessed, via the most popular browsers, on tablet devices over Wi-Fi, mobile networks, and corporate networks. In addition the, user interface of XERA allows for crisp document viewing with exceptional detail on the recently released iPad 3.
According to the ABA’s 2011 legal technology survey, the iPad is used by 89 percent of those lawyers who use a tablet device for work-related tasks and 15 percent of respondents used a tablet to conduct work while outside of their primary workplace. For firms with more than 500 attorneys, that number increased to 26 percent. XERA was developed to meet the needs of how legal professionals want to interact with technology today and the use of tablet devices is one of the areas of growth.
“With more and more lawyers buying tablet devices and incorporating them into their workflow,” states Cynthia Williams, CEO at iCONECT ”we saw a need to develop a review platform that was enhanced to work on tablet optimized browsers”
The focus of XERA is to meet the needs of today’s eDiscovery and legal professionals. XERA will delight users with a platform interface that allows them to interact with technology and data the way they want to and the way they are accustomed.
The Mobile Device Usage survey asked 324 senior staff and partners in mid to large law and accounting firms about their use and opinion of tablet devices. When asked for the main reasons why they used tablets in the work place, 62 per cent said working on the move.
The unique features of XERA that meet these needs are derived from how we use and interact with web, smart phone and tablet technologies. These features are: Faceted Search, Intuitive Navigation, Embedded Collaboration, Analytics, and more. In addition to these features, XERA is designed as a global product with a multi-language UI and UNICODE compliant document review.
“XERA’s availability marks a major milestone: iCONECT is now delivering the latest, enterprise-class legal review technology literally to your fingertips on tablets, on-demand review anywhere, anytime,” said Ian Campbell, Chief Business Development Officer at iCONECT. “Through the HTML5 designed platform legal teams can collaborate and leverage analytic review tools virtually anywhere.”
