Highlights DVB-T2 is the world's most advanced digital terrestrial transmission (DTT) system and is 50% more efficient than any other DTT system in the world.

Broadcom's BCM3461 DVB-T2 receiver device integrates a low-noise amplifier (LNA), tuner and demodulator on a single-chip that enables better cost and design efficiencies compared to currently available solutions.

Supports DVB-T, DVB-T2 Lite and DVB-T2, driving migration from T1 to T2 and transitioning current analog TV systems directly to DVB-T2.

Availability Broadcom's BCM3461 is now shipping with DVB software stack including MHEG.

Quotes Sam Rosen, Senior Analyst, ABI Research: "According to ABI Research, the DVB-T2 terrestrial TV system is being adopted by countries throughout Europe including the UK, Italy, Sweden and Finland to deploy next generation TV services, often using bandwidth reclaimed from analog shut-off. Some countries without existing digital terrestrial TV (DTT) implementations like Russia and South Africa plan to launch DVB-T2 in their initial DTT deployments." Chaz Savage, General Manager at Igloo New Zealand: "DVB-T2 is a more efficient way to deliver services on a terrestrial network, and we are pleased to work with Broadcom as a key enabler to achieve the next generation of DTT performance. We look forward to deploying the most widely adopted and advanced terrestrial TV system that offers higher efficiency, robustness and flexibility." Dan Marotta, Broadcom's Executive Vice President and General Manager, Broadband Communications Group: "The BCM3461 is a great example of Broadcom's ability to enter into new markets and create value for our customers through integration and leading edge performance. With our extensive platform experience, we offer a very compelling system solution to the market."
