'Badrinath takes helm of Orange enterprise operations'

Apr 07, 2010 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- Following the 25 February announcement of France Telecom group's new management team, Vivek Badrinath took up his new responsibilities as executive vice president in charge of Enterprise Communication Services on 6 April. ECS comprises Orange Business Services and the group's enterprise line of business. Based in Paris, Badrinath will report to Stephane Richard, France Telecom-Orange CEO, and will be a member of the group's executive committee. Having begun his career at the French ministry of industry in 1992, Badrinath joined France Telecom's long distance networks department in 1996 before moving to be CEO of Thomson India in 2000. He then returned to the group as Orange CTO in 2004.

Most recently Badrinath was executive vice president in charge of the group's networks and operators division, where he led the enhancement of the OBS network, particularly in the Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East. As a result of these enhancements, the network is now capable of handling in-the-cloud "as a service" applications and security as well as converged voice, video and telepresence services.
