'France Telecom considers sale of e-commerce operations'(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) France Telecom is considering the sale of its lossmaking e-commerce operations, including online bookstore Alapage and IT equipment retail sites Clust and TopAchat. A company spokesman told AFP that in the context of the regular review of France Telecom's portfolio of activities, a study is underway on its e-commerce business. All hypotheses are being studied, including a sale, but no decision has been taken yet. According to Les Echos, which cites business news website Eco89, if there is no buyer, the sites may be shut down, a move that would affect 200 employees.
